Located in the Huntington section of Shelton is a hip cafe where you can find noteworthy sandwiches like the steamed cheeseburger. Here you order up your food at the counter and grab a seat in their cool casual lounge area. The prices are reasonable and you can also get coffee, espressos, wine, and bottles of beer.
If you like music this is a great place to check out in the evenings. The walls are decorated with records, guitars and speakers, but not all just for show - there is a small stage area where you can see some great rock, blues, jazz, and modern local bands in the evenings. Check their website for list of events: www.huntingtonstreetcafe.com
Since we got there late on a Saturday, we were unable to get any steamed cheeseburgers. We went with a "Don't You Want Me Baby?" pulled pork sandwich and a "Bella Luna" portobello sandwich. All of their sandwiches are served up with a pickle and some fresh pasta salad which is excellent.
Don't You Want Me Baby?: I am a sucker for pulled pork, especially with some cheddar, onions, and cole slaw. The pork is great and the hickory BBQ sauce is nice and tangy. Their cole slaw adds a nice bit of a crunch. It's even better with the crispy pickle and fresh pasta salad they serve with all their sandwiches. 9
